OTTAWA – Former senior Manitoba Liberal cabinet minister Lloyd Axworthy released a statement today saying he had voted for Joyce Murray to become the next leader of the Liberal party.
Axworthy, the president of the University of Winnipeg, had indirectly supported Murray’s campaign already, but in a statement he said today he "proudly voted" for her because he believes "it’s time to change the way we do politics in Canada and Joyce is offering a pathway to make that happen."

VANCOUVER - Member of Parliament and Liberal leadership candidate Joyce Murray today outlined a seniors policy proposal from the social plank of her Sustainable Society platform.
"Healthy and engaged senior citizens make an enormous contribution to the health of communities through their volunteer work, advocacy, and support for children and grandchildren," said MP Murray. "Past Liberal governments introduced programs to reduce seniors' poverty, and today these benefits need to be protected and extended."
