MP MURRAY ANNOUNCES THE ENDORSEMENT OF SENATOR LARRY CAMPBELL

OTTAWA - Member of Parliament and Liberal leadership candidate Joyce Murray today announced the endorsement of the Honourable Larry Campbell, Senator for British Columbia and former Mayor of Vancouver.

“Joyce Murray represents not only the best of British Columbia, but the best of Canada," said Senator Campbell. “Joyce Murray is an accomplished business executive. She has raised a family. She has served in cabinet. In other words, she was a success before politics. Most of all, she continues to offer ideas that resonate with Canadians.”

Prior to being appointed to the Canadian Senate by former Prime Minister Paul Martin, Senator Campbell had a 12 year career with the RCMP before being appointed as Vancouver's Chief Coroner. In 2002, Senator Campbell was elected as Mayor of Vancouver under the Coalition of Progressive Electors party.

"I am honoured to have Senator Campbell endorse my candidacy”, said MP Murray. “Larry has had a distinguished career serving British Columbians and I'm proud to have him stand with me in this campaign as the only candidate in the race from west of Ontario."

Senator Campbell's endorsement comes on the heel of endorsements from former Opposition Senate Leader Céline Hervieux-Payette and famed Canadian Environmentalist David Suzuki.
