CONSTITUTIONAL EXPERT PETER RUSSELL ENDORSES MP MURRAY

SHAWINIGAN, QC - Member of Parliament and Liberal leadership candidate Joyce Murray today received the endorsement of renowned jurist and constitutional scholar, Professor Peter Russell.

"I support Joyce Murray because she is the only candidate for the leadership of the Liberal Party who is capable of being a transformative leader with a vision and determination to transcend narrow considerations of party, advance electoral reform, and work cooperatively with representatives of the great majority of progressive-minded Canadians to ensure that the Harper Conservatives' tenure in government ends in 2015," said Professor Russell.

Russell, a leading Canadian constitutional expert, is the Professor Emeritus of Political Science and Principal of Senior College at University of Toronto. Professor Russell is the former President of the Canadian Political Science Association and has authored many books on Canadian politics and government including Two Cheers for Minority Government: The Evolution of Canadian Parliamentary Democracy.
